“Who is my mother?”

We are all one big family. Genetically, we are all related. Spiritually, we all have the same Father. That’s why festive days like Mother’s Day, on top of being very commercial, don’t carry much meaning – if any at all – from a spiritual standpoint.

I believe in celebrating love everyday. I believe in celebrating love regardless of blood ties. In Jesus’ words:

“Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” — Matthew 12 48-50
